Percentage Calculator Guide
Percentages come up constantly — tips, discounts, grades, and growth. This calculator handles the three most common percentage questions: finding a percent of a number, working out what percent one number is of another, and measuring the percent change between two numbers.
X% of Y = (X ÷ 100) × Y. X is what % of Y = (X ÷ Y) × 100. % change = ((new − old) ÷ old) × 100.
How Do I Calculate a Percentage?
To find a percent of a number, divide the percent by 100 and multiply. To find what percent one value is of another, divide the part by the whole and multiply by 100. For change, subtract the old value from the new, divide by the old, and multiply by 100.
