GPA Calculator Guide
Your grade point average weights each course grade by its credit hours. Enter your grades and credits to get your GPA on the standard 4.0 scale — add as many courses as you need.
GPA = total grade points ÷ total credits, where grade points = credit hours × the grade's point value (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, and so on).
How Is GPA Calculated?
Convert each letter grade to its point value, multiply by the course's credit hours to get grade points, add up all the grade points and all the credits, then divide. Higher-credit courses count more toward your GPA.
Grade Point Values (4.0 Scale)
| Grade | Points | Grade | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 4.0 | C+ | 2.3 |
| A− | 3.7 | C | 2.0 |
| B+ | 3.3 | C− | 1.7 |
| B | 3.0 | D | 1.0 |
| B− | 2.7 | F | 0.0 |
